Vigil for All Nascent Human Life

The Parish of the Lord of the Divine Mercy and the TLM community will be joining the Holy Father on the Vigil for all Nascent Human Life on Saturday, November 27 at 5:00pm.

As of date, we haven't heard of any statements coming from the bishops of the Philippines how they are planning to respond to the call of the Holy Father. In fact, it is to them that the Holy Father made the request to lead their respective dioceses. It seems that they are relying on the El Shaddai to organize the vigil but the Holy Father specifically asked that it be made at the parish level as well. Now we wonder how quick they will react if the Holy Father asked for a vigil for Climate Change or Charter Change.

Changes in TLM Schedules in Metro Manila

The TLM at St. Therese of the Child Jesus at Villamor, Pasay City is now celebrated every Sundays at 9:00 am.

Parish of the Lord of the Divine Mercy in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City, Daily TLM is at 8:30 AM and Sunday TLM is at 2:00 PM.

Christ the King, Greenmeadows, Quezon City every Saturday TLM remains at 8:30 AM.

Jaleville Chapel TLM, Jaleville Subdivision, Paranaque City, every last Sunday of the Month TLM is scheduled at 10:00 AM but there will be slight changes on the schedule depending on the availability of the priest.

Avoid Preaching the Gospel using "Marxist rhetoric"

Raymond de Souza, a well known Catholic Apologist, director of Australia's Saint Gabriel Communication and program director of Human Life International (HLI) has reminded Filipino activists that their track of activism "...must be based on Catholic teaching that promote cooperation and not class struggle."

It is no secret that some sectors of the Philippine Church are actively promoting Marxist ideology, liberal theology and feminism in their view that Jesus Christ is nothing more but a social worker and a political/social revolutionary.

Pope to lead Vigil for All Nascent Human Life

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, will lead and celebrate a worldwide "Vigil for All Nascent Human Life" on November 27, 2010, eve of the First Sunday of Advent at the St. Peter's Basilica. He is requesting "all diocesan bishops (and their equivalent) of every particular church preside in analogous celebrations involving the faithful in their respective parishes, religious communities, associations and movements."

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has laid down their plan for the said vigil, giving four options namely:

• Full Option One: Evening Prayer, Rosary and Benediction
• Full Option Two: Marian Procession, Rosary, Evening Prayer and Benediction
• Simplified Option One: Evening Prayer and Benediction (no Rosary)
• Simplified Option Two: Marian Procession, Rosary and Benediction (no Evening Prayer)

The Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has yet to announce the plan for November 27. As of this writing, CBCPnews has reported the prayer vigil on November 20 led by the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas as a prelude to the Vigil for All Nascent Human Life.

Catholic laity to hold prayer vigil vs RH bill

MANILA, Nov. 9, 2010—A coalition of pro-life, family life and lay organizations are coming together in a collective show of resistance against the proposed reproductive health bill being deliberated in Congress.

Led by the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, the laity are organizing a prayer vigil called “Prayers and Reflections on Human Life” on November 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Manila Cathedral.

Laiko National president Edgardo Tirona said now is the time for the laity to defend the Catholic faith “against those who are trying to propagate the culture of death in the guise of alleviating the lives” of the poor.

“As a Church, we cannot just be complacent and allow this insidious attempt to ruin the moral and spiritual fabric of our society,” he said.

The prayer assembly on November 20 will also serve as a spiritual prelude to a prayer vigil in defense of life called by the pope on November 27.

Pope Benedict has earlier called on all Catholics to join the prayer vigil for “All Nascent of Human Life” on the eve of the first Sunday of Advent which will be celebrated in all dioceses and parishes.

Tirona urged all lay organizations to participate in both activities and affirm their “commitment to the sacredness of family and life.” (CBCPNews)

17th Asia-Pacific Congress on Faith, Life and Family

MANILA, Nov. 1, 2010—Human Life International (HLI) for Asia and Oceania is holding its 17th Asia-Pacific Congress on Faith, Life and Family, at the Dusit Hotel, Makati City on Nov. 6-8.

The congress will be preceded by a three-day international pro-life training for clergy, religious and lay leaders of Asia and Oceania on Nov. 3-5.

Ligaya Acosta, executive director of HLI-Asia/Oceania said that the congress is timely and urgent in the face of “massive attacks on the church and the much more aggressive push for the passage of the RH bill.”

“I pray that our clergy, religious and lay leaders will take this opportunity to know much more about the global agenda, and the many deceptions [and] subtle attacks against life and family,” she said.

Resource speakers during the pro-life training for clergy, religious and lay will be Dr. Brian Clowes, Dr. Ligaya Acosta, Atty. Jo Imbong, Fr. Francis Lucas, Fr. Melvin Castro and Archbishop Paciano Aniceto.

Dr. Brian Clowes is the director for research and training of Human Life International in its USA central office.

He will speak on two topics during the pre congress. On November 4, Clowes will talk on “How dissenters plan to remake the Catholic Church to their own image” and on November 3, he will speak on the topic, “Winning pro-life debate.”

Clowes will again speak on the congress proper. Other speakers include Raymond de Souza, an international Catholic apologist and program host of EWTN; and Dr. Rene Bullecer, Executive director of Human Life International, Philippines.

CBCP president and Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar will give an inspirational message to the participants during the congress while Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal will deliver the keynote address.

The closing mass on November 8 will be presided by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.

A press conference will be held on November 6 at 9-10:30 am.

Participants will be required to pay a registration fee of P2,500 for the pre-congress training while those attending the congress proper will pay a registration fee of P3,700. (CBCPNews)

Prayer Crusade led by the SSPX

On October 10, 2010, eve of the traditional feast of Kingship of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Society of Pius X (SSPX) led a prayer crusade against the passing of the RH Bill in Congress at the Our Lady of Victories Church in New Manila Quezon City. The prayer crusade started with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament exactly at 12pm and a recitation of the Holy Rosary. At 2pm, the Blessed Sacrament was reposed as a Solemn High Mass, Votive Mass of our Lady of Mediatrix, was about to begin. (The Mass was suppose to be at the presence of the Blessed Sacrament but due to the complexity of the rubrics, the priests opted to repose the Blessed Sacrament at the duration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass). At the end of the Mass, the Blessed Sacrament was once again exposed. The Van De Steen Choir with the choir of the Our Lady of Victories sung the hymns.

We should commend the SSPX for taking the initiative of organizing the prayer crusade despite the fact that their regularization within the Church is still in the process.

Requiescat in Pace, Msgr. Melencio De Vera

I just received a news that Msgr. Melencio De Vera has passed away, yesterday, 20th of October 2010. Msgr. De Vera was one of the few priests who celebrates the TLM from the early beginnings of the movement until the present despite his advanced age. Farewell, dear friend of the extraordinary form, may God have mercy on your soul and may you intercede for us. Requiem aeternam in dona ei Domine et lux perpetua luceat ei, requiescat in pace.

Msgr. Pozzo exposes the existence of a "Para-Conciliar" ideology within the Church

There is what we may call the Conciliar, or more exactly the para-Conciliar ideology, which was imposed on the Council from the beginning and which overshadowed it. By this expression is not meant something that concerns the texts of the Council, nor (even less) the intentions of the subjects, but the frame of overall interpretation by which the Council was situated and which acted as a type of internal conditioning in the subsequent reading of the acts and documents. The Council is not, in fact, the para-Conciliar ideology, but in the history of the ecclesiastical milieu and the means of mass communication it, i.e. the para-Conciliar ideology, has operated in large part towards a mystification of the Council. Since all the consequences of the para-Conciliar ideology have been manifested as an historical event, the revolution of 1968 must indeed be acknowledged, taking as its point of departure rupture with the past and a radical change in history. In the para-Conciliar ideology 1968 signifies a new form of the Church in rupture with the past, even if the roots of this rupture had been present for some time in certain Catholic circles.
