"Hindi Kita Malilimutan" by Father Manoling Francisco SJ isn't a secular love song but is based on Isaiah 49: 15-16. It should be sung in church. It is best sung in church.
It was made a pop song but that doesn't take away the religious nature of the song.
Another is example is Basil Valdez' "Lift up your Hands", "Ama", "Maria" etc.
Yes I agree, I was surprised when it was included in the list.
I think the best example of this abuse of secular songs creeping in the liturgy are during wedding ceremonies within the Mass. Just recently, I attended a wedding with the song "All my Life" sung by the wedding singers after the vows were made and a recording of "Give Love on Christmas Day" played during the Communion of the Faithful.
The best way IMHO to fix this issue is to rediscover the heavenly sound of Gregorian Chants and Sacred Polyphony.
