BRO. GERALD,

MAY THE GRACE OF THE EASTER TRIDUUM BE UPON YOU!

BROTHER, I DO NOT WISH TO OFFEND WHATSOEVER. I JUST WANT TO INQUIRE HOW COME SOME PARISHES CELEBRATED THE EASTER TRIDUUM LITURGY USING THE EXTRAORDINARY FORM OF THE HOLY MASS. ISN'T IT THAT THE HOLY FATHER, POPE BENEDICT XVI, ORDERED THAT DURING THE EASTER TRIDUUM THE ORDINARY FORM MUST BE THE ONE TO BE USED. IF THIS IS A CASE THERE IS A VIOLATION OF THE EXPRESSED AND DIRECT WILL OF THE HOLY FATHER. OR I MAY NOT BE AWARE OF ANOTHER DOCUMENT FROM THE HOLY SEE ALLOWING THE USE OF EXTRAORDINARY FORM DURING THESE HOLIEST DAYS OF OUR FAITH. ALSO, HAVE YOU NOTICED YESTERDAY IF THE REVISED FORM OF PRAYER FOR THE JEWS HAD BEEN RECITED?

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US ALL. BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE THE CHURCH AND THE LITURGY. IF WE CRITICISE THE LIBERALS FOR DISOBEYING THE HOLY FATHER AND THE LITURGICAL NORMS OF THE CHURCH. WE, LOVERS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY FORM OF THE MASS, MUST SHOW TO THEM THAT WE ARE OBEDIENT TO THE POPE AND THE SAME NORMS THROUGH AND THROUGH.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. MINE IS ONLY TO BE CLARIFIED. I DO NOT INTEND TO HURT THE FEELINGS OF OUR BROTHERS WHATSOEVER.

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!

Hi Father Abe,

I am no expert nor lawyer but from what i have read, Art 2 of Summorum Pontificum is talking about private masses since there should be only one mass in each day for the Easter Triduum. A priest cannot say an Easter Triduum private mass in any form and then a "public" mass with the people in any form. Hence "For such celebrations, with either one Missal or the other, the priest has no need for permission from the Apostolic See or from his Ordinary." So basically, the priest has freedom to choose if he'll use extraordinary form or the ordinary form for the Easter Triduum.

O, Ok! Thank you very much bro. I will also review my Summorum Pontificum and check this matter.

CHRISTOS ANESTI! THE LORD IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD, ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!

That is true. The prohibition is on the celebration of the private Mass during the Easter Triduum. In fact, this prohibition applies also to the Ordinary Form. the Easter Triduum can be celebrated only in Cathedrals and Parish Churches. If I am not mistaken, the Easter Triduum cannot be celebrated in Semi-public and in private oratories whether in the Ordinary Form or in the extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.

Yes, I agree now. I check the document and it is specifically mentioned private masses. Thank you once again for clarifying that out.

Congratulations to Fr. Jojo and his parishioners for a wonderful celebration of the Holy Week according to the 1962 Missal. A truly historic celebrations for the Glory of God and the spiritual nourishment of our people. I have heard that Bro Gerald served as thurifer, in heaven that role is reserved for ministering angels [cf. Rev. 8:1-5].

Bro. Caloy gave me a lengthy report about the celebrations and I posted it on my Blog to report to the whole world the wonders that you are doing for the genuine worship of God.

God bless you all!
